Musician Michael Trott has been slaving away over a hot keyboard for us, and he’s given us a soundtrack that we’re genuinely really excited to be able to share. From the moment we approached him at this year’s Global Game Jam with the rather ambitious brief of “a few minutes of freeform beatnik jazz battle music (lol)”, Michael has been a joy to work with.
We’ve done a unique track for each level of the game (so far): the Streets scene evokes 70s cop funk (yeah!), and our Cinema lobby is a loving homage to classic spaghetti westerns. Our open-mic slam-night rocks to organ, guitar and flute jams, and the Gallery of Modern Art’s track is a chaotic fusion of string quartet, breakbeat, and questionable DJ’ing. Art!
Have a listen, and let us know what you think.
